Last stretch before picking

Every month of August the pressure rises at Domaine William Fèvre.

From that period we already have an idea of the crop but nothing has been decided yet… The weather conditions of the last weeks will determine the quality of the vintage.

Luckily the vineyards of Chablis were spared by hail this year.

Although the last months were rainy, the grapes biodynamically grown have remained healthy with maturity progressing properly.

Because of “coulure” in some vineyards, the yields may be heterogeneous but higher than in 2013.

These reassuring elements allow Didier Séguier and his team to be optimistic and to serenely prepare the harvest by September 15th at the latest.

The first grape samples will give a precise idea of the maturation progress and will allow to set the date for picking.
