Vintage review

2008

2008 / Charm in the pure state

The region of Chablis was spared the climatic risks which raged against the rest of Burgundy. Of course the vintage started with humidity and cloud covering. Then frost emerged in Grands Crus plots at mid-April without prejudice to them. The summer months were quite dry with a reduction of sunlight however in June and August. Finally an Indian summer returned at mid-September. This weather was accompanied by north wind which allowed the grapes to display a perfect sanitary state and to reach their full maturity before picking. This maturity is conveyed by sumptuously balanced wines. They actually combine aromatic power and complexity, purity and freshness wonderfully. The mouth is attractive, rich, vivid, concentrated as well. A worth keeping vintage.
